This brief tale centres around a frustrated novelist named Henry, who has struggled to follow up a wildly successful first novel and eventually given up writing altogether (a blatantly self-referential character for the Spanish-born Martel, whose 2002 novel Life of Pi picked up the Man Booker Prize).
